Best FOOT Forward

     Foot health is often overlooked, unless you experience injury, pain, discomfort, or change in gait.

The feet actually present a map of the entire body, as do the hands and ears with respect to reflexology!

Did you know that foot fitness is a thing??? Foot health should be part of your healthcare

By massaging, stretching...the feet, we can effect the whole body.

Do you feel good about your feet?

Are they:

Happy? Ugly? Clean? Dirty? Tired? Beautiful?
Do you consider your foot a work of art?

Do you appreciate running? 
All of your fancy heel striking?
The magnificent ground reaction forces?
...Opposing gravity?
The whole body is stacked on top of here!!!

...all the way up to the brain!

Do you notice the chain of events that occurs with each step you make?

Did you know the foot has 26 bones!

33 joints!

100 muscles, ligaments and tendons attachments!

     I will often check in with the feet, to listen what that body is saying WHOLE-BODY.

     I can bring in my tuning forks to balance out chakras, and meridians that might be blocked, or stagnant. These points might be in the feet. 
Tuning forks work a lot like acupuncture, but instead of needles, which I have never been a fan of, the use of tuning forks allows a vibration, a frequency into the body. The body, consisting of so much water, allows the resignation of frequency to flow whole body. MOST clients become ultra relaxed, as these frequencies naturally feel really good to experience. 

    Certainly acupuncture and acupressure points in the feet feel good, and effect the body holistically for healing.

     I also suggest homework for foot health to my clients in-between treatments with me.

    Things like, 
      a golf ball are great to roll on, and hold pressure with. Especially if you use your breath.

     I like the golf ball, because most of us have one hanging a round the house! They are inexpensive, and they really get in the deep, depending on how much of your own body weight you allow.

     The other homework for foot health is active range of motion. I suggest the alphabet to begin. Simps as it sounds: create each letter with your foot, practice being precise! This alone begins to lubercate your joints!

     I suggest practicing balancing on each foot, this will help you as you age!
     Practice balancing on your tip toe! 
Practice a controlled roll forward, pause, hold. Then slowing roll back, pause hold. repeat.
     You can sit, and roll thru foot as well.
I like to stand, and stretch out my feet. One foot flat on the ground, the other behind me, toes into ground, allow the lengthening. 
        Standing on one side of the foot, helps lengthen out calf muscles! I, especially enjoy this stretch as a runner!
If you need extra strengthening in your feet, I suggest foot grabs! 
    You can sit or stand, you can even use that golf ball again! Simple use your toes to grab the object!

    Practicing these techniques for 10 minutes each day, is much better for your health and wellness, than allowing for one hour of stretching one day per week.
      Daily acts of care provide better results.
EXTRA attention, and TLC for the feet creates an entire launchpad for a healthy body/spine!
      You create a stable foundation to stack, and move a body upon.

All of this effects your mind, and energy!
Overall health!

Take Care of Yourself First.

With 19 years of private practice, I have heard it all...

I don't have time for 


...working out,


...I have to take care of my parents, my employees, my spouse (add anything here) my hair!, airplane, horse!

Believe me, 

You need to receive.




...make it so 
you can give back fully.

You know, 

you heard it before....

Put the oxygen mask on yourself, before you put it on your kids..while flying.

This applies to all of life as well. Especially self-care.

Life has its stressors, challenges, and burdens.
This will never cease.

It is being resilient. and managing...
Finding all the ways that give back o you.
The benefits of massage, working out, like Pilates, and taking care of self are significant.

     Research is even showing that anxiety, depression, and stress are suppressed or eliminate with the the increase of functional supportive lifestyle choices, like receiving massages!
Scheduling regular massages, and regular workouts, eases the body into relaxation, as it knows what to expect, and knows how to deal.

     Piriformis, one of six lateral rotators of the hip joint, and is tremendously important.

    In fact,

        One of the most important in the group because it is attached to the sacrum, and its relationship to the sciatic nerve.

     When this muscle gets too tight...

               because of your repetitive lazy, and lousy posture, 
     because of Phyical injury and trauma,

      maybe because when you sit at your desk all day, you probably also cross your legs? 

This becomes a body mechanics issue;
where you begin to structurally change your body thru repetition .
(This example is not in a good way).

      I have worked with sciatic pain expressed up the back, up the stomach, down the front of the legs, down the sides of the legs, down the back of the legs, the tush itself,
and yes...
extending all the way down to the feet.


If your piriformis is tight...


the sciatic nerve can be compressed.

     You will need a healing program, of manual therapeutic massage, maybe cupping, maybe ANF Therapy. 
Definitely stretching, 
perhaps vascular flush,.
The foam roller for fascial issues, and stretching, and self massage.
Education of posture awareness, body mechanics awareness, and overall maintenance will be a lifestyle.

     Given that the hip has several actions, I can advise on many stretches, depending on what works best for you, and your BODY.

We have many ways to do things!


You should exhale while moving into the stretch. 
Stretching is best accomplished when we are relaxed.

*Connecting to our breathing, and doing so mindfully, facilitates relaxation, and healing.

     And stretching is done best on warm muscles, 
so after working out, 
or after the muscles have been warmed with manual therapy or hot stones, 
or hot tub/bath... 
then begin, and allow the effectiveness of the stretch to occur.

     For muscles to truly lengthen, I recommend holding a stretch upwards of 3-5 minutes. 
This allows the muscle proprioceptors to lengthen with your breath, and time. 
No bouncing, just a simple meeting at place of tension, and going in slowly, allowing the release, and staying with it.

The Dreadful "Tennis Elbow"

     I have been blessed with a wonderful cliental, of adventurers, athletes, the retired radicals, busy stay at home moms, and the day to day worker bees.

     What these BODIES present to me are challenges of repetition, and the injuries that occur. 

Doing anything over, and over, and over... takes its toll.

     Massage and performance go together like peanut butter and jelly! 
     Understanding the need for recovery, and repair...should be part of your forward thinking, as an athlete participating in sports. 

     Recovery should also be on your mind if you are a human, and you are alive and breathing. 

     What I mean by this is, 
                               life is stressful, in and of itself. 
     Just to be alive, we need to learn to take care of our vessels, and do so with the thought of, is this restorative, rejuvenating, repairing to my body, mind, spirit, energy, and emotions. 

    Whether you are eager to excel, or not performing at all, the repetitively, overuse leads to

  Lateral Epicondylitis, also known as 

Tennis Elbow.

....And if you have experienced Tennis Elbow, you know why I refer to it as Dreadful. ;)

    Oddly enough, you don't have to be playing tennis to be diagnosed with tennis elbow, only 5% actually get it from playing tennis; you can be doing anything repetitively, like my hairdressers, servers, mechanics, even some of my desk jockeys...clicking away at the mouse. 
...And y'all run the risk, if you do things in a repeating fashion.

     *I used to have the most wonderful black standard poodle for 14 fabulous years, who was obsessed with the tennis ball. I would toss it, she would retrieve it, and that was our game of tennis. I certainly know, and appreciate the dedication required going after that lime green ball.

    (As far as my tennis players here on Mercer Island, TENNIS ELBOW is a REAL THING).  *Mercer Island takes its TENNIS very SERIOUSLY; competitively even.

     The lateral Epicondylitis affects the most common wrist extensor tendons near the elbow. Carpi radialis, brevis, extensor digitorum, digiti minimi, and carpi ulnaris. It is possibly because the greatest load goes to this portion of the tendon, combined with its anatomical arrangement, that likely are the cause of why these tendons specifically are effected more than others. We do know that repetitive overuse for long periods of gripping objects, or movements that include forever supination, eccentric loading on the wrist extensors are primary causes.

 If you are obsessed with the lime green ball...I can help!

     Lateral Epicondylitis name would indicate inflammation because of the suffix, "ITIS". Here is the thing, studies now are suggesting it is collagen degeneration within the tendon, and science still doesn't  have an understanding as to why the degeneration occurs. I have a few hypothesis myself, and I will save these for you in person.

       I have a client that isn't playing tennis at all right now because of the burden of this condition.    As you can imagine, even this changes one's life drastically, and effects all areas of your life; like mood, emotions, going beyond the physical pains, and limitations.     I have had clients lose productivity at work, with lost or diminished wages because of long periods of pain, and lack of range of motion, or use. All of which affects overall emotional and mental health of the individual, and those around that person.


REMEMBER we all are connected.

     If you are experiencing: loss of grip, pain around lateral aspect of your elbow, and down into the forearm, A dull ache, or throbbing pain affecting the wrist and elbow, massage can help you too! EXPERIENCE the gold standard in healing!





Be prepared to commit to your health, and wellness.

     This is my way of transparently asking you to step up, and take responsibility for your health. 
Recognize that: YOU ARE HIGH MAINTENANCE. This is part of being a human! If we take our car into the mechanic regularly, why would you not take your body to the massage therapist regularly?!!

                     You didn't get this injury overnight, it will take time to work thru. 
You will need to be patient with yourself. This might be your lesson! 
       Oftentimes it takes coming in 2-3x/week for 2-4 weeks, depending on the person and injury. You need to know this ahead of time, to be willing to take responsibility  for your wellbeing. You will most likely be given homework, continued self-care at home, in between sessions. This should become apart of your lifestyle, it is just what you do to take care of your body from here on out.

Once you know better, you DO BETTER.


    With the cross fiber friction, deep tissue, active release, and lymphatic drainage techniques used during treatment, muscles are unlocked from one another, scar tissue is broken down, muscle fibers are realigned, and the body's toxins and waste is then manually shlepped into the lymph system,  and our perfect body will automatically  "dispose" of the...yuk.

    Some research is suggesting that with friction massage, some degree of fibroblast proliferation results as the pressures and movements from massage, which encourages rebuilding of the damaged collagen within the tissue structure! How brilliant is this?!!!

      Furthermore, massage treatment is extremely effective if you are experiencing the debilitating condition, because  massage is an ideal intervention, especially when caught, and treated early on. I had great success halting the progression of the condition, and reversing it!

     Recognize preventive care like Massage Therapy, Pilates, Stretching, Positive Mindset, emotional health, Meditation, sound healing, aromatherapy, ANF Therapy as health care, and NOT A LUXURY.

Amazing things begin to unfold in your life, the more you take care of yourself.



     When you take care of yourself, it not only feels really good, and usually immediately, often times with effects having lasting results on mood and physical body.

     When you take care of yourself, you are showing others you are capable of taking care of them... business... life!

Everything ripples outward, and finds its way back vibrationally.

     The more you express self-care, and self-love...

    If you take the stresses of life.

                                     Sometimes THAT can be draining.

Think of a box holding sand.
Think of each stress, injury and upset and... act of service causing HOLES in this box.

     For me, I run, I ride my Peloton. I do Pilates 4-6 times per week, I meditate, a receive massage, I have tea ceremonies, I take my dog for a walk on the beach, I rest, I take epsom salt baths, I garden, I create art. Sometimes I say "NO" to going out.

*I have a huge list of things that I do, that spark joy in my life. I do these things as often as possible, in fact, I have built a life around this list.

     I encourage you to make a list of things that light you up! A list that sets your soul on fire! We all should LIVE a LIFE full of passion.


    You deserve a weekly massage. You are allowed to enjoy this life, and your BODY.

You are meant to thrive. You are meant to be pain free.

Wellness Goals

     If you experience pain, wellness goals should be in the forefront of your thoughts. Adhering to massage, pilates, stretching, ANF Therapy, Fire cupping, my own innovative: Stretchrassage, and meditation programs from injury to prevention is a lifestyle choice.


Just because you come in for an injury doesn't mean your treatments stop when your pain goes away.

     Don't you think for just a moment, that you doing nothing, and the pain were related? And if you were to implement a lifestyle based on health and wellness, and feeling great, high vitality... You can significantly reduce and prevent further pains.

     The effects of bodywork on reducing stress are scientifically proven. I have been regularly receiving massages since I was 17. With all of my continued education, massage still excites me when motivating clients to take care of their bodies. 

Reducing functional limitations holistically is what I do best.

     Health is defined by the absence of disease. Well being is defined by mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, social, energetically, economical health. Components to measure include: happiness, optimism, hopeful, and calm.

     My clients always ask me, how often they should come in. I begin with: 
LISTEN to your body, it is talking to you all the time.
Are you able to do the activities you want to?
How is your body performing?
How is your body recovering?
Are you experiencing pain?
DO you have full range of motion?
Are you connecting with people?


To set a goal, we need  measuring components to track progress.

The mood is an easy thing to measure!

Identifying STRESS, and stress related issues.
Routine stressors can include daily responsibilities like relationships, money, and work. *Stress has been known to cause physical and mental health risks, because stress impacts impacts health in a tangible way.


     One of the reasons I LOVE MASSAGE to reduce stress.

     Massage is beyond recovering quickly from injuries. It puts us in touch with our bodies, our vessels in this life.

Massage puts us in touch with our breath. When and if we hold our breath, and if it is shallow. Breathing is life force, and stress reducing.


     IF you have chronic injuries, you will need an ongoing wellness program to stick with for your lifetime to manage pain and symptoms, and further reduce risks and limitations to potential exacerbations or reoccurrence.

I want you to maintain pain free.


     When I listen to my body, it asks for massage 1-2X/week.
To avoid injury, I know that 2-3 weeks is as long as I can go without receiving bodywork. This is what I have come to know about the truth of myself, and self-care, and honoring my body, my temple.

     I encourage you to maintain pain free, by scheduling standing  bimonthly, or monthly massages, bodywork.
I encourage you to move your body. 
I offer Pilates, Stretchrassage classes to help you. 

Setting daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals is a huge deal in preventive healthcare and wellness.

     Receiving regular maintenance  for the body results in dramatic improvements in health and wellness.

   Improving physical conditions related to pain, or previous pain.

   Increased ability to relax.

                 Increased body awareness.

Increased connection to MIND. BODY. SPIRIT. ENERGY.

      Increased sense of control over healthcare.

     Yes these are cumulative, so sticking to a programs matters.

     Although most of my clients find me while they are in a heightened state of pain, I never want them going back to how they initially walked in the door.
 This is why wellness goals, and a wellness program need to be apart of your lifestyle, now.

and not after your doctor has diagnosed you with a disease...

Be preventative in taking care of your health, by doing little rituals of self-care, and self-love daily.

I love my awareness around posture.
My increased ability to sleep soundly.
Noticing when stress begins, rather than dealing with the aftermath of it...
Massage increases self esteem, which increases our ability to make better choices for ourselves: like eating habits, and exercise activities.

Progress has always been my motivation. 
Progress allows me to commit to ongoing care, especially when I enjoy the activity.
Strive for JOY in all things.

...Maybe you are heartsick over a breakup, or just making unhealthy repetitive choices because you are lonely.

and health go hand in hand.

Think about this for a second:

We don't usually miss people, we miss they way they made us feel.
Maybe they encouraged us to feel strong, loved, attractive or safe.
If this is true, consider

Figuring out ways or activities you can give yourself.

So when somebody walks away...

They don't seemingly take anything away from you.

This is in friendships, romantic relationships, work relationships, everything  is connected.
 How we take care of ourselves, is how we take care of the world.

To HEAL a wound, you must FEEL a wound.

For me, it is receiving weekly massages. 

It is being near water, and salt water is my preference. I do this daily.

It is having the luxury of time to watch sunsets.

It is running with my dog.

It is practicing my Pilates 4-6 times a week.

It is riding my Peloton!

It is having a tea ceremony.

It is soaking in Epsom salts in the bathtub.

It is stretching out my body.

It is paying attention to what is going on in my head.

It is giving myself a facial at home, and painting my nails weekly.

It is resting on my bio mat, and meditating, with mindful breathing.


When I take proper care of myself, I can come from a place where giving is easy!

Where I can take my time, and life is effortless. Good VIBES only.


We all need to take better care of ourselves, all the time.


Everybody...Every BODY needs pilates, massage, water, rest, breathing, meditation. Quiet time.


     It doesn't matter if you are one of my professional Seahawks ball players, or a badass back to school teacher, sensational seasonal gardener, high powered CEO, retired longshoreman, or a busy stay at home mom. 


You need to take care of yourself.


     By selecting a wellness package, with an intention of your wellness in mind, 

 you will gain the most reward, and changes with our time together. 


     If you can only come once a MONTH for bodywork, THAT is something!

We can build on that good habit!


     If you are dedicated to your HEALTH, and seeking lifestyle changes, I suggest you commit to pilates 3 times a week, combo that with stretchrassage, once or twice a week, and one (90) minute session of structural and energetic bodywork.

    When you take care of your body, and this is the easiest way to start with daily self care rituals, you will reap the rewards with decreases in stress, or better abilities to manage tension. 

     You will feel more powerful in your body, stronger muscles, that are leaner, with increased flexibility. You will have less injuries. You will feel less pain.

     Your mind will be learn to slow, and gain proper focus, emerging from a grounded empowered authentic place. This will draw people and opportunities to you.


    Its like burning sage to remove the bad energies from the room...


Only for your vessel...!


and along the way...

energetically you may burn some bridges to 

CLEANSE your life of the people, and situations

that are not serving, and that are not good for you.

PAMPERING. Treating self. MASSAGE!!!

Physical. Exercise. Move your body! PILATES!
Think right...POSITIVE mindset.
Personal, spending time on hobbies, Pursue your passions.
Give away your gifts.
Emotional: Honoring how you feel. OPEN your heart.
Social: Quality TIME with someone. Be present in every moment.
 Love yourself.
Avoid all gossip and drama.
Let go of things that are not for your highest good.
Have Faith. Spiritual, something good for the soul.

Why You should Come See ME!

Get Pain Free, a better body, and Keep improving your health overtime. 

I have witnessed a trend. 

It matters if you are athletic in high school. 
Not because of popularity or scholarships, but because you are establishing a lifetime habit of self-love and self-care. 
You feel endorphins, you work hard, and see results of the work, you feel connected to your body, and often community. It is healthy.

Then we go to college.

And...for those that are athletic, you have a healthy way to relieve stress and tension. 
This is where we see bodies begin to change.
 Not only hormonally, but lifestyle habits.  sedentary ... drinking... not sleeping... not exercising... not hydrating... not expressing self love.

Then we get married, and have children.

And we are taught: we are to take care of spouse and child(s), and put there needs before our own... UGH!


Years later, kids graduate, and you have an ugly, fat, empty nest. Your body aches, hurts, pains... your posture is crap. Your diet is crap. Your mind is crap. You are old and getting older, and wasting away.

You didn't invest in yourself.

Sunrise and Sunset Stretching Class

Aloha friends,

     We are now offering stretching classes that focuses just on stretching! 

     A class that everyone needs – athletes, advanced practitioners, weekend warriors, first time yoga students, and everyone in between. 


 Everyone starts somewhere...

If you are new to stretching, or looking to get back into a routine, these classes will help with flexibility...and more!

A gentler form of group fitness is emerging here, at our studio. 


A solid dose of stretching feels good for your body.

Our flexibility-focused class promises professional guidance, and group camaraderie on this often neglected component of fitness and wellness.


Exercisers tend to focus on the workout, and neglect the recovery.


Stretching class may also be a good choice for devoted exercisers who have a hard time penciling in rest days.
Stretch classes, are all about setting aside dedicated time to stretch your muscles.The general goal of group stretch classes, is to help you learn, and practice stretching techniques, format, with style. 
You can pick between: 

a  foam rolling-focused class,
yoga, Pilates Mat,  

and my personal class inspired by the integration of all of my continued education classes,  including Yin-Yoga, massage, Thai massage, sound healing, aromatherapy, and I named it: Stretchrassage!!!


      These classes emphasize floor postures to stretch, open and release the entire body. 

     Our focus is targeting all major muscle groups through both static stretching (holding a position for a set amount of time) and dynamic stretching (moving through a range of motion that stretches your muscles) and the use of tools like yoga blocks and straps, and foam rollers.

     Tight muscles can cause imbalance and pull the body out of alignment. Our class begins with warm-up movements, that prepare the muscles to for stretching. 

Focused stretching allows muscles to relax and lengthen, which puts less strain on the skeletal system and reduces tension throughout the body. Students who take this class regularly report fewer injuries and improved sleep.

     Stretching is like flossing: We need to do it everyday. stretching is something that we all should be doing diligently. Stretching provides benefits in terms of increasing range of motion and mobility.stretching can realistically boost athletic performance or prevent injury Our stretching class often involve hands-on assistance. The benefits include everything from anti-aging to better sex. 



 It is thru assisted stretching you can go further. Our Stretching class is to place a strong emphasis on the more gentle, restorative parts of an exercise program.

These sessions more closely resemble some hybrid of physical therapy, personal training, massage therapy, pilates, and yoga. These sessions are traditional group fitness classes.

Slow down and FLOW. Gentle engage, and open. Fluid movement and breathe. Deep focus, and connection to mind/body.

In fact, it shouldn’t feel like much “work” at all. “Some people abuse themselves by going too hard, With strengthening, you tend to tighten up the muscles, so you really want that mix of strength and flexibility.

 It’s important to remember that these types of classes are meant to be recovery from your other workouts; it’s not a workout in and of itself,”

     We offer smaller class sizes so you can have more personal attention—and less opportunity for self-inflicted injury.

     Make sure to always be mindful of how your body feels with each stretch and avoid comparing yourself to your neighbor.

      Group classes can push most of us to go a little bit harder than we might do solo, which is something to keep in mind when the goal here is actually recovery. Don’t push yourself further into a stretch for the sake of keeping up with the person next to you. When it comes to stretching (and really, exercise in general), what is right for one person is not right for someone else, it’s not one-size-fits-all. 

Our stretching class is highly recommended for people who do a lot of weight training, endurance sports, and repetitive motion sports like golf or baseball, that unevenly load the body.

Stretching Class is for first time students. Neither experience nor flexibility are not required, just an open mind and a willingness to have fun while trying something new.

Silent Time: Silence is golden... silence gives us the opportunity to focus without distraction, or responsibilities. Mindfully you gain states of calm...reduced tension...get out into nature!

Meditation: Sitting, walking in nature, yoga.. the retreat of going within.

Bedtime: Find routine to prevent disease. Go to bed and get up at the same time each day!

Hydration... Half of your body weight in ounces each day! standard for relaxing muscles, mind, spirit.

SEA SALT BATH!!! Magnesium and potassium...creates instant calm, because you are absorbing the nutrients, and it relaxes muscles! Plus you can exfoliate your skin with the salt too! WIN-WIN.

Stand posture is everything!

Brush and floss your teeth!

Take the stairs....

Mindful Breathing.

A MUST DO: Evening Energy Cleanse

Indulge in AURIC Cleansing Showers NIGHTLY... 

     The spiritual properties of water doesn't just clear your energy, it removes negative energy, it removes dense, stagnant, and negative energy. Water can also bring you energy! Restorative, creative, healing energy.

     As we are spirits having a human experience,  we naturally, and unknowingly collect negative energies (energy from other people and places) : all day long, and everywhere you go. 

      I personally, make it a practice to protect, and remove others energy, and negativity before going to bed each night. NO WAY am I going to take that crap with me to bed. How could I possibly obtain a good night's sleep? How could I restore fully? 

     We are all aware that showers clean your body. Well, we also have showers you take to clean your aura!!! It is often referred to as a "Psychic Shower", and best taken in the evenings. A psychic shower before bed will help you to deep relaxation, a better night's sleep, and you will wake up feeling more rejuvenated.

     AS Our individual frequency vibrates, WE create an auric energetic field around the human body. Just like your physical body, your subtle energy body, or aura may experience stress, fragmentation, and a loss of luminosity. 

So, as you plan your day, so why not pay attention to your energy, and plan to care for your vessel. Here is how How To Throw Out Other People's "Garbage", and wash away the day:


Avoid negative people. One way to protect yourself is to make sure you surround yourself with more positive people than negative ones. Spend less time time (or none at all) with negative people. 

Sunlight: Go outside and get some healthy sun exposure to revitalize your energy.

Water has incredible spiritual, and healing properties that promote cleansing and clearing

Water is a powerful way to cleanse your aura, and here's why. Water is made up of negative ions. This is especially true when it comes to moving water like oceans, rivers, waterfalls, and showers !!!!
Water is great at moving, and Cleansing Negativity !

In addition to washing all the daily grime, water also washes you of negative energy. It absorbs what you carry, and it then washes away lower vibrations and energies you may have come in contact with...down the drain!

A cleansing bath can do the same thing. Cleansing baths are useful in purifying the aura of any negativity. I love to add Lavender or eucalyptus, baking soda, and sea salt baths to calm the body, mind and spirit. I typically soak for at least 30 minutes, and often longer, adding warm water to the tub, refreshing it. Watch as the water drains from the bathtub, visualizing all negative auric energy going down the drain with the water. 

WATER and Salt are one of my favorite energy cleansers. 

Salt water is incredibly powerful, and spiritual cleansing baths are among the most powerful and effective forms of clearing negative energy from your aura.
Water Helps You to Receive Guidance In a shower or a bath, leave the water running, moving water has more electrical charge and negative ions.



A White Light Waterfall...

...visualize white light falling from the shower head with the water. See the light begin to brightly glow vibrant, golden white light, as it washes over you. The white light waterfall lifts all garbage & debris, and negative energy from your aura...washing it down the drain.   BYE BYE!!!

Crystal Cleansing

I am a big LOVER of crystals...these sweet, medicinal gemstones! Such wonderful tools for moving, shifting, attracting, and banishing energies. Choose your gemstone, bring it into the shower or bath. You can simply be in its presence or, be more interactive with your gemstone, as you begin to rub it across your body, as if you are washing with a bar of soap. Visualize the crystal absorbing the negative energy that has accumulated in your aura. My favorite crystals to use are: clear quartz, amethyst, and Rose Quartz.

*Cleasnse your gemstone after use in salt water, moonshine, or sunshine!

Use body oil or lotion to CREATE A PROTECTION BUBBLE, after your shower or bath.

Something simple like coconut oil or something decadent, that you really love...will create a boundary between you and the rest of the world, especially if you are mindfully applying! I have been known to put gemstones inside the lotion bottle, and set the intention for protection. 

Cleanse your aura by smudging it.

In my typical shamanic practice, I use smoldering herbs to releases a smoke, and carry the particular properties of the herb, allowing it to bathe, and cleanse my aura. I allow the smoke to travel over the different parts of my body, allowing the herb’s properties to cleanse my divine higher self, and mentally releasing all negativity from my auric energy field.


You gotta be willing to look inward, and pay close attention to your thoughts. You have a choice. Be responsible  for your thoughts. You must conquer the effects of negative thinking.

Clean your space, especially before bed. So when you wake up, it is to a clean space, ready for a NEW DAY!!!

This might sound a little whoo-whoo, but fairies, some witches, all beings of light, angels — mystics...we all like clean spaces. 

Why do you think all yoga studios, churches, temples, and other spiritual havens are kept meticulously clean? WE are not separate from anything we do. The way we do one thing, is the way we do all things. 


Sit still for a moment. GO within.

Sitting quietly at peace can help to release negative energy and emotions.


With these helpful tips, you are on your way to wind down from your busy day. To detoxify yourself from your day, and remove the impurities of negative energy you came into contact with.

     In Flying, we have flow charts for EVERYTHING. Every 15 minutes, and more with specific tasks at hand. Basically, to make sure the airplane is in normal operating order, and still flying. Being in bodywork for nearly two decades, I understand posture, movement, range of motion, and how we use our bodies in day to day tasks to preform.  Our posture is everything. Easy to pay attention to, you just need to know your flow chart!

      (I'm only going to speak of the Phyical body in this article. Not to leave the rest us for any other reason, than my point being physical body only. )

That being said, 

     Consider this as routine maintenance for your Phyical body every 15 minutes, until you have practiced it so much, you have mastered it, and IT is your way.

Maria J. Toro's System's Check :

Feet on the ground, standing on tripods. 
balanced thru out.
Toes pointing straight ahead, forming the number 11.
balanced weight in feet.
knees are forward, and soft.
balanced weight over each.
Hips are over knees, over ankles, and pointing forward.
Spine is erect. STRONG BACK.You are standing tall, reaching for the universe!
Your chest is lifted, and proud, while you draw your shoulder blades down away from your ears, and back to spine, focus on rhomboid strength here.
Heart center is shining happily sparkling green beams of light, brightly lit into universe.
Deep breathe...3 counts in, 9 counts out... repeat calmly.
You are relaxed. Ahhhhhh.
You have a piece of fruit under your chin, to lift and create space.
for Your Deep breathes...
Rotate your arms back, drawing your elbows into your waist snuggly, allow your forearms to rest softly next to your side body, palms face forward.

This is anatomically the correct position to stand in our bodies, think "Military style"...ish, heart center is open. This way you will attract LOVE, and the RIGHT people to you. 

You should feel grounded.

At first this will feel forced and foreign. You should consider doing extra weight resistance training to enforce the balance of this posture. This will be something you can take gracefully with you into old age, and feel really good in your body, because you took care of it all along!

The only time we can be at rest, is sleeping, and watching Netflix... otherwise, assume this posture is everything in your care and maintenance for your human vessel.

    I have a place inside me that holds significant answers. A place where I "tune in" to my divine... where I relieve guidance, introspection...going inward allows the gift of intuition. Right now is my soul searching introspection on the Big Island of Hawaii. Where I rest. Where I accept my truths. Where I STEP BACK. Where I listen. Where I learn to communicate. Where I learn to give it all back in the form of paying it forward by "talking story", as we do here in Hawaii.




     My message from spirit, as I arise out of meditation next to the bay here in Hawaii. 

     Our bodies have an amazing capacity to heal. Our bodies can heal almost anything. The Body Was Designed to Heal Itself. As a healer, Working with the body is an important aspect of healing. Healing happens best when the body is relaxed. We do not heal completely when we are too busy with our daily lives. LIFE IS BUSY, AND LIFE THROWS US OFF BALANCE. WE MUST COME BACK TO OUR....SELF, AND HEAL, AND LOVE SELF. WE MUST LISTEN WHEN THE VOLUME IS LOW. We must listen. 


“The good physician treats the disease;

     We are all one. An interconnectedness, unification, of races, and species, even this sand my body is resting upon, I am one with. We are all connected, evolving with the cycles of life. 


     When spirit speaks to me, part of my contract, is to share it with the greater, for the love, my service, my value.


Hawaii called this time so I could let go of the old.

     I have sen myself transform over the 20 years of practice. Change, evolution...integrating, growth, opportunity, expansion...on so many levels. 

Understanding as I step away, the disease fear instills. The way our regrets can void our soul of pleasures. It is impossible to go back in time, so you must forgive.


Working with clients, I have noticed those who exhibit symptoms of emotional distress, and those that self-sabotage, because of...PTSD.

I see stress everywhere, it is encompassing.

Coupled with the self shadow...

...PAY ATTENTION. If you have stress, irritability, sadness, feeling "stuck,"these are the first stages of developing potentially serious issues. These emotions and trauma store within us. Do not hold onto this darkness, you must be transparent, be brave, you must LET GO.

Remember to  DANCE!





 The truth is, we should heal when we sleep. Does anyone sleep anymore? We are rewarded in society for working ALL THE TIME. If our sleep patterns are disturbed in any way, our body doesn’t recover. Instead our life force energy becomes more depleted. There are 50 to 75 trillion cells in a human's body, and the nervous system controls is the master control system of them all. Sleep also causes the body to release hormones that can slow breathing, and relax other muscles in the body. This process can reduce inflammation and assist with healing. Inflammation is our silent killer. Inflammation causes pain. PAY ATTENTION my sweet Humans!!!



To Recover, and resolve... takes work, and you need energy to work. When I first began my practice as a massage therapist, my foundation was so scientific, I thought energy work was hocus pocus! In fact, it took me nearly 7 years into my practice to begin paying attention, having curiosity, and learning with formal education, and spirit lessons.

     Back to rest....It is best to let your body keep everything in proper alignment with a good night's rest. The next step to healing is to induce a state of relaxation. “The relaxation response is a physical state of deep rest that changes the physical and emotional responses to stress … 
and the opposite of the fight or flight response.” We all need more relaxation .   Make REST a priority.


From the beaches of Hawaii in meditation, I was summoned to the holy mountain, where the goddess Pele resides, for a sacred pilgrimage, to acquire vision and perspective. She asked for me to stop at the sacred alter along the way to make an offering where others before have done so. She asked me to pray here. "to let go of my past. Let the winds carry your worry... regrets... bad programming, let all of that go now." 

She asked me "to make a commitment  to walk with COURAGE. Walk with LOVE, walk with COMPASSION. If you do this, I will give you clarity of all. I will be another who can remove obstacles from your path."

 "You must walk." 


When I looked up from prayer, all I could see was a beautiful view. 


"Remembering the goddesses that resides inside of you..." she whispers in my ear, as I turn my back, and walk away.


     It is amazing, When the body is relaxed. We know it moves into the parasympathetic nervous system. My quality time in nature with the Volcano, and the ocean... and actually having TIME to myself... released such a renewed sense of well being.

I still am with this question...



and I have had to learn over and over again, fear is not real.


Endings and beginnings... are the most challenging parts... getting started, and letting go.


     One must challenge fear. Do not accept the artificial symbols of doubt. Remember your light. It is durning the stormy times, you can shine BRIGHT.

I see the end of the rainbow, and I hear the lyrics to a song on the radio, "The pot of gold will find you"

Hey FLY GIRL, Learn By Experience. Take Care Of Self.

      Hawaii redefines "taking your breathe away".  A little escape from reality. She captivated me immediately, and profoundly! And Every time I go, I fall deeper in love with her natural wonders designed by the gods. The ocean, and jungle views are as natural here as the gentle breezes, and sandy beaches. Her majestic mountains saturated by dynamic tumbling waterfalls, and dramatic rolling cliffs that are sharply descending into the powerful blue-green salty-sea water,  where underwater caves exist. She has significant lush rainforests, vast gaping canyons, white, green, red, black and gold sandy beaches. And to many visitor's surprise, she has a charming snow capped mountain of Mauna Kea awaiting adventures of exploration. 
     Hawaii's natural wonders, and all inspiringly impressive energetic pull at a healing 19 degrees Latitude, her loving people, with the welcoming aloha spirit, and proud ancient Hawaiian culture held my soul in such a way,  I knew I was HOME.  A little little "whoo-whooo" : Hawaii is located on the 19.47 Degree Latitude. Some say it's a Power Grid on Planet Earth.  According to some scientist , "on Every Planets gridline of 19.47 there are power points like Jupiters swirling vortex of the Big Red Spot, on Venus there are active Volcanoes, and on the Big Island of Hawaii we have Kilauea the most Active Volcano.  According to ancient Hawaiians  this is known as “The Pathway to the God,” a place to come to periodically  rest, and revitalization. This 19.47 Latitude line runs across the island, and offers magnetic powers, possibly due to the live iron elements coming out of the Earth here.  Because of that, we can see that our Thoughts, Feelings, Actions. Our Karma is  magnified, and the motto  what "Goes around, comes around" is much quicker in terms of manifesting". According to sacred geometry, a pre-disposition for inter-dimensional experience occurs at this vibrant location, and creates a 'portal' or ‘star gate.'Prayers and intentions made here are therefore broad-cast into the world and beyond. 

     I was told by a wise elder, that those who come to Hawaii to visit, they either say they are either having a beautiful experience, or not.  Those that are enjoying themselves, and are having a beautiful experience, are said to have hearts are as pure as the islands themselves...and to those hearts, the island welcomes you with open arms every time.

     Hawaiian tradition says four healers from Tahiti traveled to Waikiki around 400 AD, and became renowned throughout the island for their abilities. Not planning to stay long, the men transferred their spiritual energy into four separate stones so that their healing powers could remain in their absence. Lost for decades, the sacred relics were uncovered in 1958 after a bowling alley was demolished, Many healers are still drawn to the islands because of these intense healings, and continued teachings the islands generously and graciously provide.

Fire cupping

     Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine, the ancient Egyptians used cupping therapy dating back to 1,550 B.C. This non-invasive manual therapy yields positive results related to relaxation and pain management. Fire cupping, also known as "cupping therapy", is a treatment technique that places glass, silicon, Earthenware, bamboo, or plastic jars on the skin to enhance circulation, relieve pain, and extract toxins from the body. Cupping therapy treatments are based on  that which is the opposite of massage treatments, in that, it is placing the cups on the skin, which applies vacuum pressure and generates suction on the skin as opposed to massage therapy which involves applying downward pressure on the skin and underlying tissues.

     The suction, and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system (which makes it an excellent treatment for high blood pressure). In cupping therapy, I will soak a cotton ball in alcohol, and light it on fire inside a glass cup. Then I remove the flame, and quickly place the cup on my client’s skin, creating a vacuum that draws up the skin tissue. When the skin seals the hot air in the vessel, the air inside begins to cool, causing the skin to contract. Cupping is used to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism, and even cellulite. not only can we use cupping to treat pain, we can also, ease, or eliminate scar tissue deep within muscles and connective tissues, and reduce swelling and muscle knots. We can effectively reduce muscle tension and inflammation, and promotes healing.

     Also, like many complementary treatments, cupping is supposed to minimize circulating toxins by drawing them into the skin where they are more easily removed. Increasing blood flow is the body’s way of naturally healing, Cupping is a therapy used to remove stagnation, and stimulate the flow of qi (chi). Qi is the free flow of vital energy circulating through the body and the world around us, if the qi is disrupted or disturbed, it can create stagnation (blockages) or imbalances in the body. Cupping marks can last anywhere from one hour to up to three weeks depending on the severity of toxins released. Very occasionally there can be some bleeding or blistering but this is not something to be alarmed about. Cupping can be done as often as two times a week. By drawing impurities to the surface, it removes toxins. If the cupping left severe red marks, most often we will wait until the marks go away...or have faded before cupping again. It is expected that over several weeks of repeated cupping treatments, the bruising will decrease as the stagnation resolves. This indicates a successful result of a cupping treatment protocol.

     Michael Phelps made his cupping debut at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, although I began practicing cupping 10 years prior to the this event.  It is really cool that athletes like Phelps continue to use it to help quicken their recovery. This provided a great way to mainstream cupping, educating the world on the ancient form of healing, and making it popular once again. What To Expect When You Arrive For Your Session

Before you arrive Plan on arriving on time for your massage session. While driving your vehicle to our back lot, you begin to relax right away, as you notice ample free parking to choose from! When you enter from the southwest corner of the Key Bank building, you’re immediately swept up to the top floor, where you mostly likely will begin to smell the aromatherapy greeting you. You will be asked to remove your shoes before entering our healing sanctuary. We have coat hooks on the insides of our front door for you to begin to make yourself at home with us. There is a good chance you will have Birdie Love, our hypoallergenic therapy dog, greet you first. She is a kind, friendly, and loving Standard Poodle, who adds a charming element to a magical place. In Our Healing Space Maria will greet you in a warm Aloha spirit and bring you into the treatment room. From here we can fill out paperwork if it is your first session, or we can verbally communicate about what your body is presenting today. I will then leave the treatment room, and let you undress to your level of comfort, placing your clothing on a bench, you can settle onto our massage table equipped with a jade and tourmaline gemstone bio mat with the far-infrared heat to reduce toxins, radiation, and provides immediate grounding. A few minutes later, I will arrive in the room to join, and guide you on your healing experience. I expect you to communicate to me. I have amazing intuitive hands for healing, and palpation skills are all knowing. During Your Massage I have strong hands. Let me know if you want more or less pressure! It’s your time and I use my intuitive skills to relieve stress and sore muscles. Communication is vital as we work together. It is my goal to empower you in your own body, so you may flourish in all areas of your life. I will listen to you, and your needs. My only expectation for your session is that it be held in your greatest good. After Treatment I want you to feel shiny, and happy. As the session draws to a conclusion, I will wrap up by thanking you and your body for taking the time to honor, love, and nurture self. I will exit the treatment room, to wash up, while allowing you to dress. Once you are dressed, you can open the door to the treatment room, I will join you back in the treatment room, where, I will take your payment, and get you rebooked for your next session. I hope you will be hydrating with a glass of water, and I should see clarity in your eyes, with a relaxed face. You can sail back down the hall, down the stairs, or elevator, and safely driving to your next destination. We hope you will honor your body with massage and bodywork minimally once a month that is only 12 a year. The more often you receive bodywork, the better you feel, it is cumulative.
